#ORGinAction Social Contest: Winner Announced!

By Brian Cute, CEO, Public Interest Registry

When we launched the #ORGinAction Contest in December, we were excited to see how organizations using the .org domain would showcase ways they are active in their local communities. It turns out that excitement doesn’t begin to cover it; we were completely blown away.

The numerous creative photo and video entries to the #ORGinAction Contest showed us that there are many organizations showcasing unique and exciting ways to make an impact.

In fact, we saw “action” depicted in many ways, from taking photos and packaging donation bags to “paw-print art” and dance parties in the street. Each entry showed a different way .org users cultivate and impact their communities. Entries were judged on creativity and originality, how well the image submission showcased the organization in action, and its representation of the impact the organization has on their community.

While the sheer quality of the submissions made it difficult to select a single winner, Public Interest Registry is delighted to announce that Partnership with Native Americans (PWNA) has won the #ORGinAction Contest! PWNA submitted a video sharing how they provide both resources and support through gardens and nutritional education to Native American communities that were forced into geographically isolated reservations. You can view their full video submission here.

Partnership with Native Americans is committed to championing hope for a brighter future for Native Americans living on remote, isolated and impoverished reservations. Through more than 25 years of collaboration with reservation partners, PWNA provides consistent aid and services to Native Americans in need.

As the winner of the #ORGinAction contest, PWNA will receive twenty-five (25) Amazon gift cards valued at $100 dollars each to distribute to the organization’s members, employees and/or constituents and a Go Pro Camera to capture their actions in the future.

We would also like to highlight the three finalists – Project 1948, Street Xpressions and Harley’s Dream – who will also be awarded a GoPro camera.  Check out their creative submissions:

To all of the .orgs that participated in the #ORGinAction Contest – thank you! It truly is amazing to see all of the great work you are doing within your communities! Keep up the great work!
