A New Public Interest Registry Initiative to Celebrate Stellar .ORG Organizations

Public Interest Registry is proud to announce a new recognition program highlighting the organizations, clubs, communities, etc. who are doing great things with the .ORG domain online. The .ORG Impact Awards will recognize organizations of all sizes on the .ORG domain for their accomplishments in community mobilization, marketing and outreach, and mission achievement.
For more than three decades, the .ORG domain has been home to organizations of diverse scopes, reaches and causes, but all share a single common goal: to positively impact the communities they serve. We believe it is time to properly recognize all hard work these .ORGs do to make a difference in significant and important ways.
We hope you’ll join us in this inaugural year by nominating a .ORG that deserves recognition – the submission period is open now through July 12th. There’s opportunity for individuals and organizations alike to share and amplify the good that they are doing through three different award categories, which include:
- Individual Awards, honoring the contribution of an individual to their organization or the organization’s broader sector,
- Sector Awards, recognizing organizational and team accomplishments, and
- Initiative Awards, celebrating programmatic achievement in a specific online niche area.
Each of these categories have their own sub-categories, explained in greater detail on The .ORG Impact Awards microsite.
Why should you enter or nominate a deserving .ORG individual or organization? It’s a great way to showcase the impact your nominee is making on the world. Five finalists will be selected in each category and all are invited – plus a guest! – to attend the Awards Gala Ceremony hosted on October 10, 2019 at Washington, D.C.’s historic and beautiful Watergate Hotel. Finalists will experience a networking reception followed by engaging speakers and an elegant seated dinner, with category winners announced by leading non-profit activists and prominent members of the Internet community. What’s more, winners will receive up to $5,000 to donate to their own nonprofit or NGO of their choice!
